Alabama Rule of Professional Conduct 7.1 requires this disclaimer in all published communications concerning a lawyer’s services: “No representation is made that the quality of the legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers.”
Lewis is not your lawyer until he talks to you and expressly accepts your case.
No matter what some TV lawyers may say about themselves being your lawyer, Lewis is not your lawyer. He might become your lawyer after he talks with you.
First Call. Before you send an email to Lewis, please call. 205-939-3900. Lewis may represent your adversary. After Lewis checks for conflicts with existing or prior clients, he will tell you if you may send your email.
Keep you secrets to yourself. Until Lewis has agreed to have an attorney client relationship, do not disclose your confidences, secrets or anything else that you do not want disclosed to the public. You would not write your secrets down and mail them off to a lawyer, without knowing whether or not the lawyer represented your adversary, or was willing to consider representing you. Until you have Lewis’s express agreement to treat your information as confidential, you should make no disclosures to Lewis
No mass emailing to lawyers. It is becoming increasingly common for potential clients to broadcast detailed emails to many lawyers seeking advice, representation or assistance. Some of these people may even be attempting to create conflicts of interest to attempt to disqualify lawyers. Lewis will not respond to such mailings, and will not treat the information as confidential.
